SUMMERTIME IN THE DORDOGNE

July is for the Dordogne. I wish I could save one week for this marvelous green patch of Southern France, every single year. The plenitude of trees provides needed shade. The big old stone houses are cool inside. The winding river is ever ready to catch leaping children. The day markets bring sustenance in the morning, before the world heats up. And the night markets come alive as the sun goes down. Gavaudun, Issigeac, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Domme, Beynac… Merci! See you again next year.
